IDENTITY CRISIS CH.23

The demon's skin turned pale and his eyes darkened, his nails became jagged and his cheeks were sunken in. He looked less of a human and more of a monster.

Before Sam could take action, the demon threw him up against a wall and had him pinned. Then the demon quickly turned to Dean and threw him out of his bed. As Dean went flying, he felt the IV rip out his wrist. He groaned in pain and grabbed his wrist as he was lying on his side. The demon didn't pin Dean down, because he could tell that he was too weak to move. Now that the IV was out, Dean was slowly starting to feel light headed. Plus his head was now throbbing in pain after he was thrown into the wall.

By now the demon had his eyes set on Alex. He watched as she sat there wide eyed, staring at him as he smirked. "There's my little puppet." He watched as Alex looked away from him and out the window. "Trying to ignore me? How cute."

The heart monitor, hooked up to Alex, slowly started to beep faster. "Leave her alone!" Sam couldn't let anything else happen to her, he had to stop the demon.

The demon shot a look at Sam. "Now where's the fun in that? Morana had her turn and it looks like somebody else did too." The demon gently placed his hand on Alex's bruised face and lightly stroked it. She squeezed her eyes shut and started to breathe heavier. "Who could harm such a beautiful face?" The demon glanced over to Dean and smirked. "I don't blame you, Dean. She was acting like a b*tch."

"Don't call her that." Dean grunted as he tried to get up. When he looked up, he saw Alex's hand desperately trying to reach for her purse on the chair. He looked back at the demon who turned back to Alex. "Just leave her alone!" Dean yelled as he tried to pull himself off of the floor.

The demon turned towards Dean and threw him again. He hit the same wall again and fell to the floor. The demon faced Alex and saw her standing next to her bed holding up a gun. She had fury in her eyes as she clenched the gun, with her finger wrapped over the trigger. "Oh come on, Alex. Bullets won't do you any good here. Didn't the boys teach you anything about us demons?"

"Actually," Alex said holding the gun steady. "They did." She pulled the trigger multiple times, shooting the demon with holy water. He started to smoke and scream in pain. "Sam taught me that one." Alex smirked then put her hands on the bed behind her. Then in one swift motion, she lifted herself up and kicked her feet right into the demons chest. Her feet pushed into him and the force of her kick caused him to fall backwards into Dean's bed. "That is a little something I learned on my own."

Dean and Sam quickly shared a shocked expression then they both looked back at Alex. They did not know that Alex was capable of doing that and neither one of them had taught her that like she had said.

"You little-!" The demon tried to charge after Alex, but he ended up falling back on to the bed. There was an invisible force that kept him from going after her. After he landed on the bed, he looked up at the ceiling to see a devil's trap.

"It actually worked?" Alex said in disbelief as she lowered her hands. She had raised them up to shield her from getting hit. Although Sam and Dean assured her that it would work, she was still nervous and had her doubts. She looked over to Sam who was now loose and helping Dean get to his feet.

"You're going to regret that!" The demon yelled in a threatening manner. "You think those nightmares are bad now, just wait and see what's to come! You'll be begging for those nightmares! You are so unbelievably stupid, that you can't see the truth!"

"Shut up!" Alex yelled as she shot more water on the demon.

The demon gasped for air and glared at Alex. "Dean and Sam are lying right to your face and you don't even know it! They're keeping something from you! Why do you think you get those night-Ah!" The demon screamed as Alex shot him with more holy water.

"I said, 'shut up!'" Alex yelled in frustration shooting the gun until there was no more water left in it.

"You b*tch!" The demon managed to blurt out while rolling in pain. When the gun was empty, Alex chucked it at his face. The demon was knocked out cold on Dean's bed.

"My name is Alexandra," Alex growled, "Not B*tch." She wobbled and leaned on her bed for support. It had been hours since she last stood up, so her legs were very weak.

Sam and Dean both walked over to Alex. Dean noticed Alex swaying and quickly put his hands on her shoulders. "Here, why don't you sit down?" He said as he gently pushed her down on the bed.

"Thanks." Alex said with a weak smile. "So how are you going to get rid of it?"

"We have to perform an exorcism." Dean smirked when he saw Alex looked at him like he was crazy.

"Seriously? Projectile-vomiting-heading-spinning-barfing-up-pea-soup type of exorcism?" Alex asked in a joking manner.

Dean glanced at Sam and shrugged, "Something like that, but less messy."

Alex stared at them both as they casually looked at the demon. "I can't believe we're even related."

"You could go see Hana, if you don't want to see this." Sam suggested. It wasn't that he did not want her to see the exorcism, because it was completely harmless as long as the demon was trapped. He was more worried about the demon telling her about the curse. It had already tried to say something about it, but Alex had prevented it from doing so.

Alex looked at the demon, then back to Sam. "No. I'll stay. He's not going to scare me away. I can't let him control me any more."

Sam nodded his head in understanding then looked at Dean to see him holding on to his sore wrist. He looked at Sam and realized he had agreed with Alex, but Dean was not too crazy about this idea. He was afraid of not only Alex finding out the truth of her dad and her curse, but he was also afraid of something else. Something that he had pushed aside and tried to ignore, but deep down he knew that he couldn't.

The demon woke up and found himself strapped down to the bed. Dean was standing next to Sam with his arms folded, glaring at the him. To the right of Dean, Sam was holding his father's journal open to the page with an exorcism written on it. It wasn't that he didn't know the words, he just didn't want to take the chance of messing up with this particular demon.

Sam didn't wait any longer and started reading off the exorcism. "Exorcizo te, immundissime spiritus, omnis incursio adversarii, omne phantasma, omnis legio." The demon flinched in pain as Sam continued the exorcism.

"You sure you want to send me to hell Dean?" The demon smirked at Dean through his pain. "You send me there and I'll be one of the many to great you and give you the grand tour." The demon said as he clenched the bed sheets.

"Audi ergo, et time, satana, inimice fidei, hostis generis humani, mortis adductor." Sam continued speaking in Latin and occasionally glancing up at the demon. When he heard the demon trying to manipulate Dean, he had looked over at his brother. The one thing he didn't see was the confused face of Alex, who was sitting behind them. He didn't realize it, but the demon had a clear shot of her.

"What's wrong, sweetheart?" The demon looked Alex in the eyes with a sadistic smile. "Didn't the boys tell you?"

Sam and Dean both turned towards Alex, then glanced at each other. They knew what he was going to say, so Sam started to read faster.

"Dean's going to hell in three months, because he had to bring his little brother back from the dead."

"You son of a b*tch!" Dean yelled as he decked the demon in the face. As he heard Sam continue, he looked over at Alex, but she wasn't in her bed. He saw her walking out of the room with her IV in her hand. The way the door slammed, he knew that she was upset.

Sam read more of the exorcism and they saw the demon tense up in pain. His black veins throbbing at the surface of his skin. "I'll see you in hell!" The demon yelled before he turned into a black cloud of smoke and shot up at the ceiling and into the devil's trap.

Sam closed the book and looked over at Dean, who had a solemn look on his face. "Where's Alex?"

"She left." Dean rubbed his hand over his face and sat down on his bed. "We should have told. She didn't need to find out that way."
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Alex walked down the long, white and dim hallway. The cool tile of the floor on her bare feet sent shivers down her spine. As she walked down further, heading towards the nursery, her knee started to give in and lock up.

Ever since she was shot in the knee, it was never the same. She would feel the occasional shooting pain, but most of the time it was from her memory of that awful day. Running was a difficult task, because eight out of ten times it would give in on her. Then again maybe now that she was not pregnant and carrying the extra weight, it might heal up. Alex had her doubts about it, but there was a small chance of hope.

She held the pole, that was supporting her IV, for support. As she walked past room after room, she looked at the different names of the patients. One particular name made her come to a stop. Kyle Spencer.

The door was wide open and the room was dark. Alex walked into the shadows of the room and over to a bed. There she saw Kyle lying still with his eyes shut. She looked up and noticed that the heart monitor was shut off. A tear ran down Alex's face, but she was not sure which emotion exactly it was coming from.

Out of exhaustion, Alex sat on the side of his bed and rested her head against his chest. It was then that she felt something touch her back and gently rub it. When she looked up, she saw Kyle smiling at her.

"Please tell me this isn't a dream." Kyle said half heartedly with a warm smile on his face.

"I missed you." Alex said as she buried her face into Kyle's chest.

"I missed you too." He whispered and rubbed her back with one hand, while holding her head with the other.

"I saw your car on the news." Alex's voice was slightly muffled by his grey t-shirt.

"Don't worry. I'm fine, just a concussion." Kyle explained while he touched the band aide on his forehead. "The doctors wanted me to stay over night for observation. What are you doing in here?"

"I had the stomach flu and Dean's in her too with hypothermia."

"Sounds like I missed out on a lot."

Alex looked up at Kyle and saw a somber look on his face. She knew what he meant by that, then her eyes lit up with realization. "Do you want to see her?"

A large smile spread across Kyle's face, then he said, "No, I want to hold her in my arms and never let go." Kyle brushed Alex's hair behind her ear, then said, "I'll never let go of both of you. I promise."

He kissed her on the lips and slowly got up and out of bed with Alex. He wrapped and arm around her back for support as they walked out of the room. Alex leaned her head on Kyle's chest in fear that she would be separated from him again. He automatically noticed this and pulled her closer and held on to her with both arms. When they walked into the nursery and told a nurse, she went to get Hana. Alex looked up at Kyle and saw his anticipation as he looked down at her. When he looked up, he saw the nurse carrying a bundle of blankets in her arms. Kyle let go of Alex and grabbed Hana from the nurse. He held her in his arms and close to his chest, afraid to let her go. After he had her snuggled up nicely, he pulled the blanket off of her face and got to look into her blue eyes.

"I told you she had your nose." Alex said as she leaned in next to Kyle and looked down at their daughter.

"Yeah." Kyle said trying to hold back his tears. "You never told me that she has your eyes though."

"Well I wanted something to surprise you." Alex smiled.

"I'm sorry I wasn't there." Kyle then looked at Alex, and for the first time he noticed her bruised up face and saw the band aide on her right cheek. "Oh my God. What happened? Are you alright?"

"I'm fine now." Alex said as Kyle lightly brushed the hair out of her face to get a better look at her.

"Who did this to you?" Kyle had a hint of anger in his voice, but it was toned down by the excitement of holding his first born.

"Its not important. Trust me."

"You sure?" Kyle said as he placed his hand back on under his daughter.

After thinking about it for a minute, Alex looked at Hana then back up to Kyle. "Definitely." Alex said with a small smile.

For the first time since she was born, Hana smiled and laughed. It was as if she knew who was holding her and that everything was going to be okay.
