The Impala came cruising around the corner driving as fast at full speed. Everything was a blur as it zipped by the open windows. Alex was in pain as she steered the car, and needed to let Dean know what was going on. She couldn't tell if she was getting closer to him, because she wasn't sure where he was.
Black Hawk Motel, Wisconsin, Dells
Dean decided that they needed a break from hunting, after the last hunt. They had helped Alex when she was on bed rest for a month, but now she could move in her chair and actually talk normal again.
Sam was out getting dinner for them, while Dean was sitting on the bed watching TV. His legs were crossed as he was sitting up on his bed. The lame horror movie that was playing was disappointing to Dean. He kept yelling at the characters and told them to "Salt and burn the bones!" He was about to yell again, but heard the familiar sound of the Impala. He muted the TV and threw his legs over the side of the bed, and looked around. The car sounded like it wasn't slowing down and getting closer.
Alex was driving blind and didn't know when to stop. She had to guess when, but it was too late. The car hit a wall, sending the rear end into the air, falling down and landing parallel to the wall. Alex had stopped accelerating, when she heard the bang.
"Hey!" Dean yelled as he looked down at his foot. "Alex! Where did you learn to drive?" He picked up the toy Impala and ripped off a sticky note.
"Shut up!" Alex yelled from the bathroom. "I couldn't see where I was going!"
"Who taught you how to shave?!" Dean shook his head after reading the note.
"Can you get me the band aides or what?"
"Yeah." He went over to his bag to get the band aides. "Hey, remind me to take you shopping for a new razor."
"I have no objections." Alex stated. "It's not like I do it on purpose."
"That's good to know." He said as he walked over to the bathroom door, that was slightly ajar.
"You know, you don't have to stay with me all the time, Dean." Alex was sitting on the side of bathtub and turned around to face Dean, when she heard him come in. She was wearing a blue t-shirt with a pair of shorts, and her hair was pulled up into a pony tail.
"Uh, yeah I do." Dean said as if it was an obvious answer. "You were almost killed by a-"
"A psycho, that was possessed by a demon." Alex finished for him and continued on. "And if I took off my necklace (which happens to be made of iron) like Lurancy wanted, then she would have possessed me to kill Danny. But that was too risky, because she could have wanted to stay inside my body. So I guess it's a good thing that I was wearing an iron ring around my neck, because spirits and demons can't cross over them. Yeah, I know Dean. You and Sam have explained this too me so many times in the past month."
Dean nodded his head, glad that she remembered everything. "So, do you know how to protect yourself? Can you fight off a spirit?"
"I never said I could. A girl could use some privacy, that's all." She held out her hand as some water splashed onto her small cut, reminding her what she had called him for.
Dean tossed her the box. "You and me both. I can't even remember the last time I had a room to myself."
"Wasn't that last night, when it was Sam's turn to sleep in my room?" Alex asked laughing at him.
"Trust me. One night isn't enough." He said as he walked out of the bathroom.
There was a knock on the door, so Dean went to answer it. He opened the door to let Sam in, who had his arms filled with a pizza box and a couple of drinks. There were two beers for him and Dean, and a root beer for Alex.
Dean grabbed the pizza box from Sam and walked over to the table. "Alex! Foods here!"
"I'll be out in a minute!"
Sam set the food on the table, and it was a matter of seconds before Dean had a slice in his mouth. Sam took a swig of his beer and waited for Alex to come out, before he started eating.
Dean was about to take another bite, but felt something hit his leg. He looked down to see the "mini Impala", as Alex called it, hitting his leg repeatedly.
"Dude." Dean said looking over at Alex, who was sitting in her wheel chair, holding the remote for the mini Impala.
"Maybe next time, you'll wait for me before you start eating." Alex grinned heartily.
Sam laughed, as Dean glared at her while he picked up the mini Impala. Alex wheeled over to the table and grabbed a slice of pizza. She was parked to the left of Sam and to the right of Dean. Sam handed the root beer to Alex and she opened it with a pop.
Moments later, over half of the pizza was gone, leaving three slices left. Sam grabbed a slice of pizza and noticed a small bandage on Alex's leg. "Did you cut yourself shaving again?" Sam asked in disbelief.
"It was just a small, little, tiny nick." Alex said as she held her thumb and forefinger up so they barely touched each other.
"And yet, you needed a band aide." Dean took in a large bite of his pizza.
Sighing, Sam dropped the slice back in the box and stood up. "That's it. Come on Dean, we're leaving."
"I'm still eating." Dean complained with a mouth full.
Alex was confused by Sam's sudden determination. "Where are we going?"
"We're taking you shopping for a new razor." Sam said as he pulled Alex's chair away from the table.
"You know, I've been with plenty of girls that-" Dean began say as he followed them out the door.
"Dean," Alex held up her hand to stop him. "I beg you not to finish that sentence."
Dean sighed and rolled his eyes at her assumption...Not that she would be far off really. "All I'm trying to say is that it's not normal."
"And hunting Casper the friendly ghost is?" She asked as Sam helped her into the back seat of the Impala.
"Sometimes Casper isn't that friendly." Sam smirked before he closed her door.
They drove to the store and bought Alex a better razor. On the way back to the motel, Alex was able to convince Sam and Dean to let her sleep in her room alone for the night.
When they pulled up to the motel, Dean got out his spare key to Alex's room to get the rest of the pizza and beer.
Meanwhile; Sam was helping Alex out of the back seat and into her wheel chair. When she got into the chair, Sam sensed something move past him. He quickly turned around, but didn't see anything. Although there was nothing, Alex and Sam started coughing and sneezing a little. There was something in the air, but it wasn't sulfur. Sam waved his hands in the air and offered to help Alex to her room, but she only rejected it. She wanted to try and be independent again after the accident, but half the times she said 'No' they ended up having to help her any ways.
Alex headed to her room and Sam went into his own. They weren't really sure what to make of what had just happened, and they were suddenly too tired to care. Sam was getting his night clothes out of his bag, while Dean was sitting on his bed, watching TV. There was nothing good on, so he turned it off and glanced over at Sam. He was about to lay down when he noticed something all over Sam. This was too good of an opportunity for Dean to pass up, so he had to say something. He crossed his arms arms and put a huge grin on his face.
"Sam is there something you'd like to tell me?" He asked in a fake curiosity, Sam would have noticed the grin if he had been looking.
"Like what?" Sam was looking in his bag for his sweat pants that he wore to bed.
"Like, why you got red glitter all over you."
Sam shot a confused look over to Dean. "What?!" The only response he got was Dean pointing to his face in circles.
Sam ran into the bathroom with his clothes. When he looked in the mirror, he saw a bunch of little red, shiny spots. He turned on the warm water and grabbed a wash cloth to start cleaning off his face.
"I knew that you were always in touch with your feminine side, Sammy, but this is just a Little too girly for me." Dean said as he pulled back the blankets on his bed.
Sam just groaned in response as he scrubbed his face.
"You know, I think that your the real reason why people think we're gay." Dean added as he crawled into his bed.
"Dean!" Sam yelled for his brother to shut up.
"Well, I'm tired." Dean said as he pulled up the covers. "Good night, oh great glitter goddess."
When Sam came out of the bathroom, Dean was sleeping peacefully in bed. Sam needed to get him back, so he grabbed a permanent marker out of Dean's bag. He walked over to his brother's bed and drew little hearts on his face. When Sam was done, he flopped down in bed and turned off the lamp that was sitting on the nightstand. Once he was settled in, he fell into a deep sleep. The next morning Sam was going to wake up and look at the world with a new perspective on life. The question is: will he like it?
