IDENTITY CRISIS CH.5

Alex was cradling her baby close to her, keeping her warm.

"Does this mean I can't play my music loud?" Dean asked Alex.

"That and no swearing." Alex replied while watching her daughter wrap her fingers around Sam's pinkie finger.

"Oh come on."

Alex looked at Dean. "I'm serious. I don't want her first words to be: son of a you-know-what."

"What's a you-know-what Alex?" Dean asked, playing dumb.

"Shut up." Alex shook her head, then looked back at her baby.

"Well I don't want to say the wrong thing in front of her."

"Dean, will you leave her alone? She just had a baby." Sam said trying to get his brother to stop.

"Thank you Sam." Alex said smiling at Sam, then sticking her tongue out at Dean.

"If you like him so much, why don't you name her Samantha?" Dean said smirking at Sam's glare.

"I could always name her Deana." Alex replied smirking back at Dean.

His smile faded and he got a worried look on his face. "You wouldn't."

"Wouldn't I?" Alex asked teasingly.

"Dean is a very masculine name." Dean started to ramble to Sam and Alex's amusement. "That would just be mean to name-"

Alex cut Dean off laughing. "Relax. Kyle and I already settled on a name." She looked into her daughter's blue eyes and knew the name was a perfect fit. "Hana."

"I like it. It fits her." Sam said smiling at the baby.

"Seriously? Its not Deana?"

"Yes. I said you could relax."

"We should probably start heading back to the hotel. You don't want her to catch a cold." Sam interrupted.

"Good idea." Dean got out of the car and into the driver's seat, and drives them back to the hotel. The snow was still coming down hard, but luckily Dean was able to get them back.

Once they arrive at the hotel, they walk into the lobby. There was a couple, who had just checked into the hotel, walking down the hall kissing. Their two little boys got grossed and ran away covering his eyes.

Morana, standing behind the desk, saw the three of them come in and noticed the new baby. She had seen them go out in rush, and had clearly remembered Alex being pregnant. "Hey guys. I'm guessing you didn't make it to the hospital."

"No. We had to deliver the baby in the backseat of my car."

"We?" Sam and Alex asked together looking at Dean.

"You know, I'm pretty sure there's a doctor staying here." Morana chimed in.

Dean, Sam, and Alex all looked at Morana and their smiles faded away.

"Are you serious?!" Alex asked in disbelief.

"You mean to tell me that there's a doctor here who could have delivered this baby, but we did it on the side of the road, in the backseat of my car?!" Dean asked angrily.

"Hey, you got the easy part. I had to-" Sam started to retaliate back, but stopped when Alex cleared her throat glaring at them both.

Morana held back a laugh and shook her head. "I'll call him down for you, if you like?"

"That would be great, thank you." Alex said, then Sam and Dean started yelling again over her head. Since she was standing between them and shorter then them, it was easy for them to look over her and forget about her.

"You know, Sam, next time check and see if there actually is a doctor in the hotel, before we get stuck out in the middle of nowhere and have to deliver a baby!"

"Next time?" Alex asked a little weary. The pain was still fresh in her mind, she couldn't think about another at this moment.

"We?! You're the one who was to scared to do it!" Sam yelled at Dean.

"Ok, Hana. I'd say that now is a good time to slowly walk away." Alex whispered to her baby, while walking over to one of the cushioned chairs in the lobby.

"I wasn't afraid, I was grossed out. There is a huge difference!"

"Not really! And you don't think I wasn't grossed out?!"

Morana walked passed Sam and Dean and muttered, "Men. They know nothing." She went over by Alex, to take a look at her baby.

After a while, Dean and Sam cooled down and sat in chairs opposite of each other. Then the doctor came down and walked over to Morana, who was still by Alex and Hana. "Hi, I'm Dr. Williams. I heard that you just had a baby."

"Yes. Can you take a look at her?"

"Sure. Not a problem." He said with a warm smile.

When he was all done, he handed Hana over to Alex. "She's healthy."

"Thank you so much. I really appreciate this." Alex said turning away from Sam and Dean, who she was talking to while the doctor checked up on her baby.

"It was nothing. Believe me. But if you ever need stitches, then I'm gonna have to charge you." He laughed.

Dean rolled his eyes and whispered to Sam. "Does he actually think he is funny?"

"He's a doctor, Dean. Not a comedian." Sam whispered back to Dean.

"Yeah, well he should leave it to the people who know what they're doing."

The doctor was walking away, but suddenly turned around. "Nice one Dean. He heard you." Sam whispered to Dean as the doctor walked back to them.

Dean hit Sam on the shoulder when the doctor walked passed them and back over to Alex. "Don't scare me like that." Dean scowled.

"Oh, a little advice for you." He said resting his hand on Alex's shoulder to get her attention. When she turned around, he gave her some advice. "Don't let her get on your nerves in the middle of the night, after she wakes you up from her crying. She's just a baby and doesn't know any better. Keep that in mind."

"Thanks, I will." Alex said.

"Good luck." He patted her shoulder and walked back down the hall to the elevator. Sam, Dean and Alex all did the same and caught the next elevator. On the way up, Alex tried calling Kyle, but there was no answer. She tried again looking anxious, but got nothing.

"He'll call back." Sam said looking at Alex. "Don't worry."

"I know. I just..." Alex paused looking at Hana. "I'm worried about him."

"There's probably bad weather there and he can't get any reception." Dean said while he was leaning against the opposite wall from Alex and Sam. "You said he wasn't far from here, right?"

"Yeah." Alex said a little less worried.

"See? You've got nothing to worry about. You're just over reacting." Dean smirked at her.

The door to the third floor opened and Alex got out, but stopped and turned around. "I have no where for her to sleep."

Sam and Dean looked at each other clueless, trying to think of a solution. They forgot about the elevator until the door closed them, leaving Alex all alone. "Thanks a lot guys." Alex says to herself after the door closed. She walked down the hall, to her room. When she got inside, she sat down on her bed holding Hana up on her lap. "What am I going to do with you?" Alex sighed and brought Hana into a hug, then she heard a couple of knocks on the door. Alex saw Sam and Dean through the peep hole and opened the door.

"We called the manager. He's sending a rental crib up." Sam told Alex while walking into the room.

"Rental?"

"Don't worry, we're paying for it." Dean said taking a seat on the only bed in the room.

"Thanks. You guys didn't have to do that." Alex adjusted Hana in her arms.

"Here. Why don't you let me hold her for a while. Your arms look tired." Sam offered outstretching his arms towards Hana.

"Is it that noticeable?" Alex asked while handing Hana over to Sam. Once she was in Sam's arms, she started to cry.

"Shh. Its ok. Its ok." Sam said as softly as he could, but Hana stilled cried.

"Here." Alex took Hana back and she stopped crying. "I think she's fine now." She handed Hana back to Sam and she started crying again.

"Let me see something." Dean said standing up and walking over to them. He took Hana from Sam and she didn't cry. "I don't think Hana likes you Sammy."

"She's just a baby, Dean. She doesn't know any better." Sam told Dean.

"You're just jealous." Dean laughed and swayed Hana in his arms. "I told you I was chic magnet."
