The roads were slick, covered in ice and snow. The wind was blowing harder and the snow was coming down faster. If it wasn't for the heat in his car, Kyle would have been in worse shape then Alex.
He drove carefully, which meant he had to go slow. The slower he went, the safer he would be. The quicker he went, the sooner he would be with his new family. Every time he would press on the gas a little harder, he would reason with himself, "If something happened to me, Alex would have to raise Hana alone and I would never get to see my daughter. I have to go slow no matter how much I want to be with them." That was what kept Kyle going and driving safe. He couldn't stand to see Alex in more pain. The thought of her being all alone for the rest of her life, was too heartbreaking for Kyle. "She's been through so much pain." Kyle thought to himself. "I can't let her suffer any more. I just can't."
As he was driving, he remembered something that Alex didn't mention in the voicemail. "Alex didn't mention Brad at all. Which means he never made it. She was all alone with the curse." He said out loud. "Sh*t!" He banged the dashboard with his fist. "That idiot! I'm gonna kill him! He was supposed to watch out for her! I can't believe this!"
Knowing that he couldn't be with Alex at all times, Kyle had called Brad. He told his brother to stay with Alex while he was at work. Although, Brad didn't know about Alex's curse, but he agreed to come any ways. The thought of not leaving a pregnant woman by herself was understandable to Brad. So Brad had told Kyle that he would take the next flight out, but Kyle hadn't heard from him since.
Kyle started looking around his jeep for something. His hand was wondering around aimlessly, while his eyes were glued to the road. With no luck, Kyle decided to look down and try to find his cell phone. When he finally found it, he looked up and saw that he was headed for a ditch. He tried to swerve his car back onto the road, but it was too late. Kyle quickly pressed on the breaks and his car came to stop in the middle of a ditch. "That's just great." Kyle stated sarcastically. "Could anything else go wrong?!" Kyle yelled in anger.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Sam was helping Alex drink the hot chocolate. He held a straw for her so she could drink it while she was laying down. Then he heard Hana start to cry. He walked over to her crib, picked her up and cradled her in his arms. He grabbed one of the chairs and dragged it over to the side of Alex's bed. After he was sitting down he started to feed Hana from the bottle. He slowly tilted it for her as her head was resting on his elbow.
"H-How is she?" Alex whispered, voice still hoarse.
Sam looked at Alex's tired eyes. "She's good." He saw a tear run down Alex's face again. "You'll get better soon. I promise."
Alex faced the ceiling and Sam went back to feeding Hana. Her tiny arms and hands tried to grab onto the bottle. Sam watched her as she drank away the warm milk with her tiny legs crossed at the heals. Once she was full, Sam set the bottle on the nightstand and put her back into the crib. Sam pulled the blanket up and tucked her in, so Hana and Alex were both bundled up in blankets.
As Sam walked back over to his chair he noticed that Alex was still shaking. So, he went into the bathroom to retrieve the warm washcloth. After Sam was sitting back down in his chair, he went back to stroking Alex's forehead.
"What d-did I do wrong?" Alex whispered.
"Nothing. Things some time just happen and there's nothing we can do stop it." Sam said not sure if he believed what he had just said.
Alex and Sam both went silent for a while. Every time Alex would shut her eyes, Sam would tap her face to wake her back up. "Alex, you need to stay awake so the doctor can examine you."
"I'm s-so t-tired." Alex said weakly.
"I know you are. You can rest later, ok?" Sam waited for an answer, but Alex didn't respond. "Alex?" Sam asked when he saw her tense up and her eyes go wide. "What's wrong? Speak to me."
Alex quickly sat up in her bed, which made Sam a little nervous.
"Whoa, you need to take it easy. Dean's getting the doctor and they're on there way here." Sam assured her.
Sam tried to push Alex back down, but realized what she wanted when she pointed to the trash can.
"Oh! Yeah, of course. Here." Sam said reaching for the trash can. He got up and was about to hand it to Alex, but she quickly bent over the edge of the bed. When Sam heard a noise that he didn't want to hear, he quickly looked up and pulled Alex's hair back for her without looking. With one hand holding the trash can and the other holding Alex's hair, Sam couldn't help but start to feel queasy.
After a long awkward moment for Sam and a lot of throwing up from Alex, she finally relaxed.
"Are you done?" Sam asked afraid to look down, but he did any ways.
"Yeah." Alex replied. "I th-think so."
"I'll get you a glass of water." Sam walked into the bathroom with the trash can and set in down in the bathtub. He closed the shower curtain and washed his hands, then filled up a glass with water. When Sam walked out he saw Alex looking some what guilty. "What?"
Alex looked down at her hands. "I-I'm sorry."
Sam couldn't help but laugh at the way Alex was acting. "Don't worry about it."
Right as Sam was about to walk back over to Alex, there was a knock at the door. Sam opened the door to let in Dean and the doctor. Dr. Williams had a small black bag with him, which he set down on the bed next to Alex. Once he started examining her, Sam picked up Hana and walked into the hallway with Dean.
"She looks terrible." Dean said feeling bad for Alex.
"Yeah, well she probably feels ten times worse than she looks." Sam said while rubbing Hana's back.
"How's the Squirt doing?" Nodding his head towards Hana.
"She's fine, I just fed her. So do you have any leads on-"
"So that's the crying culprit." Angela said walking past Sam and Dean and stopped in front of the door which was next to Alex's. "About time you finally got that thing to shut up." She said as she got out her room key from her purse. As she slid the key into the lock, a hand quickly grabbed the door knob. Angela looked up and saw Sam and Dean both glaring at her.
"Excuse me. I'm sorry, but she's not a thing, she's a baby." Dean said clearing disgusted with her choice of words. "She has feelings and most importantly a name." Dean was still holding the door knob.
"Let me guess. It's Cry Baby?" She said with a smirk.
"Look, if you have a problem with her crying, then why don't you ask the manager for another room?" Sam said irritated.
"Oh don't worry. I just filed my complaint to the manager, and he said that they would pay for my entire stay." She said with another smirk.
"Listen if you have a problem with her, then you have a problem with me. And lady, trust me when I say this. You do NOT want to have a problem with me." Dean said letting go of the door knob and walking away.
"I'm sorry was that a threat?" She asked folding her arms. "I know for a fact that a cop is staying here. And I would have no problem to go, find his room, and tell him that I'm being harassed."
Dean and Sam stopped dead in their tracks and looked at each other before they turned around.
"You know what? You're right." Dean said with a smirk looking at her. "I shouldn't have threatened you. But you see the thing is," Dean took a few steps closer to her. "She's my family and I'm not gonna let anyone hurt her in any way. Even verbally. So if you want to complain, go ahead." He was now standing a few feet in front of her and still walking. "Of course it would be a shame if you couldn't get out of your room or the stairs were blocked. You know the phone lines are down, the elevators don't work. You're stuck here b*tch." Dean was now standing in front of her and looking down at her, using his size to intimidate her. "So you better shut up, go back inside, take off your wig and mask, and soak yourself in some sewage. Or if that doesn't satisfy your need to be a cold hearted b*tch that hates children, then you can try to get the cop and call her more names. I say try, because there is no way that I'll let ANYONE call her a 'Thing' and get away with it. You're messing with the wrong family lady and it's too late to apologize. So you might as well turn around and go back down those stairs and get another room, or I'll do it for you. Now which is it going to be?"
Angela looked up at Dean, then looked at her door knob. She pulled the key out and walked away down the stairs.
"Can you believe her?" Dean said still looking at the stairs. "Why didn't the manager move her room? He knows that we're all gonna be stuck here for a while."
"Unless he likes watching people suffer." Sam said sharing a theory that just came to mind. "Maybe even kill them too."
"You know when I told him about the guy that hung himself, Maz didn't care about it. He said that people should wait for what fate had in store for them." Dean explained to Sam. "Maybe Maz had something planned for this guy, but because he hung himself, he never got a chance to go through with it."
"Sounds good, but what about the woman we saw on the tape? There's no way that that was a guy."
"No, but I know how it could have been."
"Shapeshifter." They both said at the same time.
"So he stays as the manager during the day and night he turns into a woman to kill people." Sam thought out loud.
"Which is perfect in case he ever did get caught killing somebody. It's the perfect alibi, and there's no way a cop will have silver bullets."
"Cop shoots him, shifter gets mad, then kills him." Sam finished.
After they figured it all out, the doctor came out of the room.
"How is she?" Sam asked concerned about Alex again.
"She has hypothermia. You two are lucky you found her when you did, she wouldn't have made it." He was about to walk away, but remembered something. "I almost forgot. She should take two of these before she goes bed." He said handing Dean a bottle of pills. "It won't cure her, but it will help. As soon as you can get her out of here, take her to a hospital."
"What happens if we don't get out of here in the next few days?" Sam asked worried.
"I'd pray for a miracle."
Not really wanting to know the answer, Dean asked, "How much longer do you think she can be like this?"
"Honestly?...I don't know. I'm sorry." He walked away and everything was silent.

Thats so sweet that you care about Kyle and getting to Alex.
Yes, you can slap her. lol You want Dean to JUST slap her? Don't you think thats a little too nice? lol How about he decks her and breaks her nose. :D
Well Hana is his family and he will protect her.
Maybe Dean should slap the doctor too. lol
And again...Yes you can slap her. ;)
lol, Maybe Dean slapping her is too nice, so I'll stick by what Dean's said before "Slow torture's the way to go." lol. And if that works, maybe she'll stop being...stupid(not the word I was gonna use, lol)and Dean'll do her a favor and deck her and break her nose anyways just to show how nice he can really be. ;)
